We keep on practising all winter, every Wednesday afternoon, learning the medieval and Renaissance dances of France and Lorraine. If you live near us and enjoy dancing or play an instrument that might work well for the dances of this period, get in touch!
The Musée Vivant is literally a living museum in the street: a celebration of the life of the village as it used to be lived. Throughout the summer there is a real museum open in the rope maker's and shepherd's houses, but on the days of the 'living museum' there are people demonstrating lace-making, basket-making, the work of the blacksmith - even the way in which people used to wash their clothes in the 1500s and 1600s.
The Musée Vivant dates for 2014 are:
5 July (a soirée)
3 August (the main event)
If you want to know more about our village, have a look at the Dreaming at Châtillon Facebook page, for English visitors. It's only just been started, but I hope that eventually it will offer the English tourist plenty of useful information.
